Hey guys, well I made it through my first week. I’m still alive and kicking. My team is amazing…they’re all so cool to hang around with, but I still miss everybody at home. I will say that I know that RAD is going to be an amazing experience. Our feet hit the ground Sunday night and they haven’t stopped running since.
It seems like this first week has been about getting us prepared for whatever is coming next in this journey. The staff won’t tell us what we’ll be doing from one day to the next, but that’s ok. It wouldn’t really be fun if it was any other way. We usually start our days at about 6:30 doing some exercising, then break for devotional time and have breakfast @ 8:00. The only really constant about my days is that there will be meals, and you know what? — I really don’t have a problem with that. I mean, really, it could always get worse, right?
I pulled my first all-nighter with Rob and some of the staff. He didn’t say we had to stay and help him, but the guy was in a tight spot, so what could I do? Rob had been working all week on a set of chairs that some guy wanted painted red, and they were on the last coat Thursday night and all ready to be sprayed Friday morning. Well, during the night it rained and all the chairs had been outside. So they, needles to say, were a sorry-looking sight. The chairs had to be delivered the next day so we had to strip them all the way back down to the wood. I stayed up till 5:oo in the morning and it was a bear, sanding all night. But you know what? We got it done.
I really need prayer for my finances, just that it would all come in and be taken care of. God has been good about teaching me not to worry so I’ve gotten a lot of practice at praying. My big toe is lightly in-grown. Please pray that it doesn’t get infected and that it will heal soon. It’s doing better, though. Be praying for my team, also. They are my new family so it’s important that God knits us tighter, and He’s being faithful thus far!!! I love you all so much and I hope you’re doing well. I’m excited thinking about seeing everyone at the next big work weekend. Oh yea, please pray that our cabins will be finished in time for winter, and that everyone will do well on the trail!!!! And hey I get to do laundry today so that’s awesome. It’s funny what becomes exciting when you lose control of the little things.
