Radical Action Disciples

Hello to all you wild, crazy people. Are you between the ages of 18 and 26? Are you looking for an adventure? Well, if you are, then you have come to the right place. Welcome to Radical Action Disciples! We are an adventure-based discipleship ministry aimed at the spiritual development of young men and women.  RAD is Survivor, JESUS style!  It is 9 months of our living God transforming our old ways and creating us new in Him.  It’s God’s plan for discipleship training. RAD is really more than you could imagine or even ask for; it’s worship, ministry, outreach, community, leadership, fellowship, adventure, hands-on training (oh yea, our classrooms – they don’t have walls!), spiritual and personal growth!  RAD is life-changing, eye-opening, and purifying.  It is what Jesus is crying out for His children to do. Now, do you wanna know who RAD is?  Well, my friend, grab a mirror and look in it.  Dude, RAD is you!  RAD is a group of hungry, fired up, Jesus loving freaks from all around the world, seeking to be a disciple for the King of kings. Can you dig it? Read on and you will find out more.

 What is Discipleship?

To be discipled we must first and foremost learn who Jesus Christ is and what His heart looks like. When we know His heart we can see the things He loves and the things He despises. We can see what He has done for us and what He continues to do in our lives on a daily basis. Once we learn what He wants for us, it is then our choice to lay down our lives and strive at all times to be more like Him--to do the things that He would do, say the things that He would say and to love others the way He loves them. God calls everyone to hang out with Him and be more like Him. He wants to share the secrets of His heart to His children so that He can build a solid foundation in us, a foundation that He can use to send us into all the nations of the earth, including the United States, and spread the gospel to all of His children under the heavens. He longs for us to believe His word, rest on His sacrifice and strive to be more like Him in every way. Luke 9:23 tells us, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Why RHINOS??

“…You see, Rhinos can run at thirty miles an hour, which is pretty fast when you consider how much weight they’re carrying...Just one problem with this phenomenon.  Rhinos can see only thirty feet in front of them.  Can you imagine something that large moving in concert as a group, plowing ahead at thirty miles an hour with no idea what’s at thirty-one feet?  You would think that they would be far too timid to pick up full steam, that their inability to see far enough ahead would paralyze them to immobility.  But with that horn pointing the way, rhinos run forward full steam ahead without apprehension, which leads us to their name.

Rhinos moving together at full speed are known as a crash.  Even when they’re just hanging around enjoying the watershed, they’re called a crash because of their potential.  You’ve got to love that.  I think that’s what we’re supposed to be.  That’s what happens when we become barbarians and shake free of domestication and civility.  The church becomes a crash.  We become an unstoppable force.  We don’t have to pretend we know the future.  Who cares that we can see only thirty feet ahead?  Whatever’s at thirty-one feet needs to care that we’re coming and better get out of the way.”
